The Griffin Groupe is searching for Procurement and Supply Chain professionals for a premier client in the engineering & construction industry. Our client is a leading utility construction firm providing critical infrastructure for the Power, Communications, Oil & Gas Pipeline, and Gas Distribution markets throughout North America. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
  • Degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent
  • 15 years experience in supply chain management, strategic sourcing or procurement
  • 10 years of management experience
  • Certifications are a plus (CPSM, PMP, CPM)
  • Experience with a construction or engineering firm is a plus
  • Experience with implementing supplier diversity programs
 
JOB DESCRIPTION
Establish and implement world class procurement and strategic sourcing processes and practices within the assigned region.  Lead corporate-wide Procurement programs and initiatives within region. Serve and contribute as key member of the regional leadership team.  Optimize the number and development of a diverse supply base.  Improve supplier qualification and performance management practices. 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Train, supervise, and lead the purchasing resources at the regional, project, and site levels within region and/or line of business.
  • Insure compliance with company Procurement policies, procedures and initiatives.
  • Drive Procurement’s corporate initiatives at the regional and local level and ensure implementation of and compliance with negotiated contracts and agreements
  • Understand local and regional standard operating procedures (SOP’s), workflows, and processes, and determine opportunities for improvement and standardization.
  • Lead the coordination and optimize the integration of cost estimating, category management, project management, operations and project /site purchasing resources and functions.
  • Negotiate, implement, and manage supplier contracts and service level agreements.
  • Conduct supplier and subcontractor analysis, evaluate potential new suppliers, and manage the overall supplier qualification process, as required.
  • Lead implementation of supplier optimization and supplier risk management initiatives, along with Continuous Improvement and Lean activities.
  • Partner with and influence internal business partners from project initiation through project closure to insure early involvement and optimal use of procurement and supplier tools, processes, systems and best practices.
  • Strategic, operational and administrative leadership of the Supplier Diversity program within region.
  • Implement region-wide, line of business and local sourcing and purchasing initiatives.
  • Work with corporate category managers on regional requirements.
  • Resolve regional and local supply and supplier related issues.
  • Provide oversight and insure effective performance of operational and tactical purchasing activities for projects and programs.
  • Initiate and manage RFIs, RFQs, RFPs and related project plans as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree (Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations or Engineering) required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10-15 years’ work experience in supply chain management, strategic sourcing, procurement or purchasing in roles with diverse and increasing levels of responsibilities.
  • 5-7 years’ experience leading, managing and developing people.
  • CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or C.P.M. (Certified Purchasing Manager) with PMP (Project Management Professional) designation preferred.
  • Demonstrated success implementing procurement policies, processes, tools and initiatives on a regional and/or line of business basis.
  • Experience working with construction and engineering companies and/or in the construction industry is desirable.
  • Prior experience implementing Supplier Diversity programs and initiatives is a plus.
  • Strong problem solving skills and demonstrated ability to manage/lead multiple projects and programs simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated accomplishments in handling diverse and complex sourcing transactions, negotiations, and contractual responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated success facilitating and influencing positive change with internal business partners; must have a strong customer service orientation and high business acumen.
  • Technology driven and ability to leverage Procurement and eSourcing tools.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. 
  • SAP or Oracle and Ariba or BravoSolution proficiency is a plus.
  • Self-starter, able to drive projects to conclusion and work effectively with a variety of people at various levels within the company.
  • Ability to travel, regionally and nationally within the US.
  • Unquestioned integrity and ethics.
